Reykjavík, Iceland — September 2026 — Capretto, an Icelandic life-science company
developing novel antimicrobial treatments based on naturally occurring lipids, has
reached an important milestone with the submission of its first medical device
application for market approval.
The application covers an innovative short-term topical use on compromised or
superficially damaged skin where microbial imbalance may contribute to discomfort,
irritation or delayed recovery.
The submission represents an important transition for Capretto from research and
product development toward commercialization.
Capretto, in collaboration with StratiCELL and CTMR Department of MTC at Karolinska Institutet, has officially kicked-off the Eurostars funded project, HALT-INFECT at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland.
